1965 – We see our four-year goal coming into view. Will we make it two more years?

We continued our journey and battles for education and fun. Being juniors now… we’re almost in the big leagues. After all, we did sell over 2 tons of candy.

Highlights:

Doug Miller places 3rd in state oratorical

Golfer Marshall Maddux hits his hole-in-one

Ron Hendrix was named to the All-American Football Team and honored again as he, Tom Modisette, Pat Standage, and Dave Grangaard pile up a record total 1,500 points on the basketball courts.

The ’65 basketball team scores a new record 97 points in one game against South Mountian.

SPORTS:

Football Coach:  Don Baker – AGAIN fabulous coach Baker leads our Spartan griders to prove their prowess winning the Division III Championship. Only 3 points kept us from the state champion status with our loss to Westwood. The JV team again is successful with a 9-1 season.

Basketball Coach: James Smith – Our Spartans pushed to 4th Place in state basketball.

Baseball fights on, track wins their 7 out of 8 matches, and wrestling all showed the Spartan spirit to their opponents. The girls’ tennis netted an undefeated season.
