In Memoriam

We entered our high school years with expectations. We had our lifetimes ahead of us. We anticipated decades of life, love, and fun. We encountered terrific people and developed friendships and relationships. We interacted to achieve higher learning, better sportsmanship, greater creativity…we were living life as it should be.

Then the reality of life struck home. At a young age, you don’t expect to lose your friends to accidents, illness, or war – too many wars. Yet it happened.  And we discovered it happens more and more as we travel down the road of our interlaced lives. And while the loss is great, it’s something we learn to deal with personally ~ and as a group. We remember the good times, the sad times, the times they helped us through, and the times we aided them in their struggles of growing up. We were friends and that’s what friends do.

We were learning the lessons of life.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalm 30:5

We have friends we will never forget, and we remember and honor them here as they added to our youth and our lives. We miss them but know that the trials and troubles of this Earth are not their concern as they have found joy in the morning in a new life.
